At this point we know of an enigmatic antagonist named Higgs wearing a golden mask. That mask apparently gives him power to summon and control demonic entities commonly known as BTs (Beached things). One of the most vivid BT enemies so far buying is the Giant Lion that emerges at the Higgs' command to prevent Sam from moving on.
