A photo of your pet can become a piece of art that warms your heart every time you see it.

Do you have a favorite photo that you would like turned into an original art piece? We are pleased to be offering custom options for our encaustic paintings.

Your encaustic painting will be comprised of multiple layers of clear and pigmented wax with an image transfer of your photo encased within the wax layers. We will use a combination of pastel, ink, and oil paints to add detail and color. If you'd like the tone of the background to be a particular color, we can do that too… just mention it in your notes.

We are currently offering our custom encaustic paintings in three sizes, each in a hand-built shadowbox frame in your choice of color. Each piece is wired for hanging and is signed and dated on the back. Also included is an encaustic care card which tells about the encaustic process, history, and how to care for your new encaustic painting.

Size options:
2" x 3-1/2" artwork size in 5 x 7 shadowbox frame
3-1/2" x 3-1/2" artwork size in 8 x 8 shadowbox frame
6" x 11" artwork size in 8-1/2" x 13-1/2" shadowbox frame

If your pet has crossed the rainbow bridge, message me for details about adding a tiny wax heart with their ashes.

What is buying encaustic?

Encaustic is an art form dating back over 2,000 years. Its technique involves heating a mixture of beeswax, damar resin, and color pigments, and using this molten mixture as the painting medium. The often unpredictable nature of the wax medium offers serendipitous effects, resulting in a one-of-a-kind work of art.

To care for your new encaustic painting, dust or buff with a soft, lint-free cloth when needed, and keep out of direct sunlight.
