**I strive to make made to order spindles resemble the ones in the pictures but it isn't always possible to do because of the nature of wood. One piece of wood takes the dye colors differently than another piece of wood. This is true in every case, so each spindle is slightly different than the next one. Also, wood that is left natural such as black walnut is going to vary in lightness, darkness, grain patterning and such.


This is a versatile drop spindle, capable of spinning a wide variety of yarn weights. I designed the whorl of this drop spindle buying so that most of the weight is at the outer rim. This increases the centrifugal force making for a longer spin time. The whorl and shaft are both turned from maple hardwood then hand-dyed.
The hook is hand made from copper.

All of my spindles are tested before shipment.

Both the whorl and shaft have been finished with a protective french polish then buffed to a satin sheen with my own beeswax finish, which protects the wood while allowing the natural beauty to shine through.

I use sustainable hardwoods from a local, small, family run mill.
