This lovely little piece is beautifully made in Australia and stamped to the back STG in the Australian manner. It also has the mark MEM and has a platypus buying stamp. This is for silversmith Mary Elizabeth Michelmore.
Mary Michelmore was born in 1932 and set up her own studio in Adelaide in the 1970's.
The pin is in the form of a sea lion or seal. It is highly polished and presents beautifully.
There is a pin to the back with a hinged clip to secure it. It comes in its original little box.
The brooch is 25mm x 15mm.
