Here is a vintage, collectible book perfect for the horse lover. The book is in good condition. It's 276 pages. Illustrations inside are by W. C. Nims, and there are over 20. Pages are remarkably clean with no dog eared corners or tears. Jacket design is by Wesley Dennis. The jacket is also in very good condition. There are small tears at the top and bottom of the spine. There is a piece of tape on the cover that you can see in the picture. The other tape discoloration on the jacket is on the inside flaps.
Published in 1941, it's the second book in a series of four about a young girl, Connie McGuire, who risks losing her horse in a bet if buying she doesn't place first or second in a horse show within the year. The Connie McGuire series is set during the Great Depression era.
Other wear and tear on the book are discoloration on first and last pages due to tape that once held the jacket. Blank page before title page has previous owner's name and address. Page 116 has a smudge (pictured), and the previous 2 pages shows the smudge as well, but very faintly.
Aside from the tape discoloration, the book does appear very well.
