Sydenham Edwards (1769-1819): Sydenham Edwards, born 1769, was a young Welsh artist when his talent caught the attention of the botanical illustrator William Curtis (1746-1799). For the next 28 years, Edwards worked as one of three illustrators who was responsible for almost all of the botanical illustrations in Curtis' volumes, Flora Londinensis, and The Botanical Magazine: or Flower-Garden Displayed.
This antique hand colored engraving will be sent backed with an acid-free board to keep it flat and in a clear archival sleeve to protect it inside the outer packing.
