This is a factory-sealed copy of the great folk veteran Burl Ives singing folk songs by popular artists of the day including Bob Dylan, Peter Paul & Mary, Joan Baez and Simon & Garfunkel. He is accompanied by guitar and orchestra. I'm familiar with this album and admire it for its originality. Burl Ives doesn't try to duplicate the artists' takes on the songs. Instead he gives them his own authentic spin. Just as one buying example, the title track, "The Times They Are A-Changin'," is very slow, backed by strings.

This rare mint-condition 1969 album would be a great addition to the collection of anyone who loves this old hippie music. It's not something you hear every day, and it's interesting to hear these hits in a new light. Burl Ives is such a legend and sings with such emotion, it could be an inspiration to a young performer -- or a trip back in time for someone who remembers 1960s counterculture.
