As the June roses bloom each year, I feel immensely inspired by the vast variety and beauty… not only in each genus and style, but in each and every unique rose blossom.
Damasq, with it's aesthetic roots in Middle-Eastern and “Olde-Worlde” styles of rose perfumes, is not a rose oud as you might imagine. It's a deep, red rose, the color of our most ardent love. Within this concept, I wanted to express our long standing romance with the rose and all that it symbolizes in our spiritual and emotional worlds.
By using an all natural palette, I feel that I have been able to truly capture something of the elusive nature of red roses: their intensity and depth, as well as the resinous-green, floral-spicy quality found in Damask Roses. The supporting note of rose leaves, geranium, incense, sandalwood, and balsam, give a beautiful balance to the natural fruity touch that most roses display.
