The Tilaka Is A Mark Created By The Application Of Powder Or Paste On The Forehead. Tilakas Are Markings Worn By Vaishnavites.
In Kali-Yuga One Can Hardly Acquire Gold Or Jeweled Ornaments, But The Twelve Tilaka Marks On The Body Are Sufficient As Auspicious Decorations To Purify The Body. Sectarian Body Stamps Have Script Related To A Deity, Usually Vishnu. Used By The Vaishnavites, Particularly Devotees Of Chaitanya To Imprint Their Bodies With Divine Names Or Attributes.
