This low profile tray is made from warm Hickory hardwood with grain that flows seamlessly from side to side. Finished buttery smooth.
The joinery on this box is miters with exotic wood miter keys which have a dual purpose in adding both a decorative element as well as making the miter joint stronger.
I hand selected this suede fabric for this box. This lining is upholstered so that your items comfortably sit on a cushioned surface. I've developed a custom, furniture-style upholstery technique for my boxes which results in a more luxurious feel than just lining the box bottom with material.
Finished with a variety of products to enhance the grain as well as provide a high-shine appearance. Finishing is the most variable and potentially complex part of woodworking. I easily spend the majority of time in my builds in finishing. Many stages... many products are involved in order to achieve what you see in my buying final products.
I sign and date the underside of these boxes.
