These butterscotch faux amber beads are paired with a few tribal silver elements found in the South Asian markets of Afghanistan and Pakistan.
They are quite light for their size and sway nicely.
I hand form the ear hooks from sterling silver wire.
Most of the little tribal silver ‘bits' I use come from various dealers of tribal silver around the world. I've been ‘making' many years now and have met many traders and dealers in person or through the wonders of the internet. These little beads and pendants started life as much more elaborate pieces of jewellery and have been broken down over the years to their individual elements. It's always wonderful to see old pictures of pieces in their entirety and see how the little dangles or beads you have were originally used.
Being vintage, these bits often have marks or buying are not perfect. It's all part of the life they lived before making it to my studio, and does not detract from the overall effect.
