One-of-a-kind Layered Resin Balt Buckle: Dogs Playing Poker
I have always collected belt buckles and decided it it's worth collecting then it is worth making. I take apart images and layer them in resin to create a very subtle 3 dimensional feel. These images rest in a standard Western Belt Buckle metal frame.
Buckle size for fine art is slightly larger with a size of 2" x 3" but still fits standard 1.5" and 1.25" belts.
Many of these images or are either damaged or incomplete, at least enough to keep them from filling out a buckle frame. In those instances I use my design skills to smooth over holes, extend backgrounds, or affect contrast in a way that will help the images pop. What makes them truly unique is the layering in such a tight space. Some buckles have up to 4 layers before complete. Each buying piece of the image is separated by a thin layer of resin, allowing for that shadow and texture to come through. Adding a sense of motion and life to a historic, stagnant image is good fun. Enjoy!
