Product code: Roger buying Maris, '62 Topps Three Card Collection
Three cards for this hard slugging outfielder. Look closely at the Maris card, and notice it is #1 in Topps 1962 order of players. The other cards are #234 and #313. Maris' skill in the outfield was largely overshadowed by his slugging. He was a tremendous asset to the Yankees, and of course his 1961 home run numbers. Those early 60's Yankees were loaded with tremendously talented players. The cards in the pictures are the cards you will receive buying. Roger was recruited by legendary coach Bud Wilkinson to play football for the University of Oklahoma. But with a professional baseball contract looming, Roger gave up his scholarship at the University of Oklahoma to pursue a career in baseball. He signed a $15,000 contract to play for the Cleveland Indians organization. (RogerMaris.com) Great Player, three good cards from original owner, I pay shipping! What could be better? I took duplicate pictures because of lighting issues. Follow me for more Great 1961 & 1962 Topps cards.
