Product code: EAPG Opaline Glass Chicks buying Emerging From Eggs by Westmoreland Specialty Glass

This EAPG (Early American Pattern Glass) Opaline Glass Chicks Emerging From Eggs By Westmoreland Specialty Glass is in very good condition. Westmoreland Specialty Glass manufactured from 1889 until 1924. This piece is from the turn of the century. During this period, the term 'Milk Glass' was not used. It was called 'Opal' or 'Opaline', 'Opal Ware', and 'Opaque' glass. This cute basket of birds was made with and without an oval on the basket. The pieces that had an oval on the basket were made for mustard. This piece does not have an oval on the basket so was probably a trinket dish. Many of these Chicks Emerging dishes are ornately painted but this one is entirely white. There are a few chips to the underside rim of the lid, shown in photo 4.
It measures 4" from handle to handle, 3.625" diameter, and 3.5" high overall.
