Baltic Birch is a wood product sourced from the Baltic birch tree that originates in the Baltic States of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania in Northern Europe. Baltic birch plywood is primarily produced in Finland and Russia, and referred to by many as "Russian Birch".

PHYSICAL ATTRIBUTES:-

Baltic Birch is manufactured using a multi-ply process, consisting of many layers of solid birch veneer, equal in thickness, and odd in number, that are cross-banded. Cross-Banding means the grain of these veneers are stacked with alternating horizontal or vertical grain and bonded together with high grade waterproof glue providing exceptional strength, stability, great machining qualities and screw holding attributes. The face veneer on both surfaces are made from a single piece, and show vertical wood grain that runs lengthwise throughout the sheets. There are no exterior splices. No formaldehyde is used in the manufacturing process.

Baltic Birch has a beautiful clean appearance that is valued for its appealing light color, Baltic birch plywood features a uniform grain, smooth texture and outstanding durability. Some light mineral streaks and tight pin knots may be present. The buying thick face veneer allows a lot of sanding without going through the veneer. While most plywood tends to be painted, Baltic birch is aesthetically attractive enough to stand alone with light sanding, varnishing or staining.

Baltic Birch Plywood Sheets are virtually void free with no glue pockets and the perfect choice for laser cutting, CNC etching and a number of other uses such as hobby projects like scroll saw art, skateboards, children's tables and toys and other craft work, furniture, book shelves, cabinets, drawer box bottoms and sides, wood working tools such as shop jigs and other accessories.

Our Birch Plywood sheets are cut from a premium quality grade product. These are the same high quality products that we use in building our cat wall furniture listed on https://acatsdomain.etsy.com Due to its origin, the thickness of these plywood sheets are sized in metric measurements which have been converted to English equivalents, thus the thickness reference above of (3mm). We always strive to provide the best quality product possible, but the nature of these plywood sheets make it impossible for us to guarantee that every sheet will be perfectly flat and straight. The plywood is a rough cut and we cannot guarantee exact sizes or against some saw blade chipping. Please express that cleanliness on the edges is a must for you and the shop will do their best to accommodate you.

ACTUAL SHEET SIZE:-

The actual size of our cut sheets are 3/16" less in length and width than the listed size, to accommodate the use of flat rate shipping boxes, thus allowing us to offer lower costs to the customer. If you are requiring an exact size, please contact use for a quote as an additional shipping charge may be required.

PREPARATION:-

After we cut the sheets to size we store them in a climate controlled environment. Prior to shipping we double check the product and enclose it in a shrink wrap bag to help maintain the low moisture content that could be compromised during the unknown shipping journey.
