The Triskel, Triskele, or Triskelion is a design composed of 3 interlocking spirals or curved lines. In the Celtic, as well as several other cultures, it represents sets of threes important to Human existence. To the Celts those were first, the foundation of Celtic cosmology; land, sea, and sky.
It also represented the triple god, and the triple goddess - Maiden, Mother, and Crone.
Later with the advent of Christianity it represented the trinity; Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.
The Triskel also represents:
body, mind, and spirit
past, present, and future
power, intellect, and love
This hand crafted sterling silver Triskel ring is set with a natural pink tourmaline cabochon that was earth mined in Mozambique. The tourmaline measures 9 mm x 7 mm x 3.5 mm and weighs 2.07 carats. This is not a flawless stone. There are internal veils and inclusions easily visible in the stone, but they add to it's character. This pink color is just about exactly the color of rose quartz. Pink tourmaline is one of the birthstones for October. The ring measures about 9.4 mm across the triskel, and is stamped STER for Sterling on the inside of the band. The shank measures 2 mm across by 1 mm thick at it's thinnest on the back. The last picture is for visual size and scale reference, so you can see exactly what size the ring is. It shows the ring next to a US dime coin and 1" on a ruler. The sterling silver I use to craft my rings is alloyed with newly refined recycled silver. The only difference between recycled sterling silver and silver not identified as recycled is the source of the pure silver. Recycled silver has less direct impact on the environment and a much lower carbon footprint than newly mined silver. Otherwise, it is exactly the same. I believe that if we all work together towards positive change, we can make the world a better, healthier place. That's why I use recycled where I can. The black jewelry box it will be sent in is also made with 100% recycled materials.
Rings are always stronger when the shank is cast to size as opposed to being cut and sized later. So rather than set this stone first, and then need to size the ring to fit your finger, I will cast your ring to size when you order it and then set the stone. I will have the ring ready to send within 3 to 5 business days. The pictures show the exact stone I will use for your ring (stone #001), but you will notice that it is just sitting on the ring and the prongs are not set to hold the stone. The stone will be securely set in the prongs once your ring buying has been cast to size.
PROPER FINGER SIZING:
There is no way to accurately guess or estimate the finger size you need for a ring to fit properly. The only way to obtain an accurate measurement is to use the METAL finger gauges used by jewelers. Go to a store that sells rings, and get the finger measured. They will be happy to do this for you. Finger size is totally unrelated to body size or shoe size. Using string or ribbon to measure the finger is not accurate. Printing a paper off the internet and wrapping it around your finger probably won't yield accurate results. You remember that she used to say she wore about a size 7 ring? It probably has changed or you remember wrong. Again, the only reliably accurate way is to use metal finger gauges graduated in 1/2 sizes, until you find the one that fits best. Also keep in mind that fingers are smaller when you are very cold, and larger when it is hot and humid. Receiving a new ring that is too large or small is quite disappointing. You will be far happier if you take the time to obtain an accurate size before ordering. I can re-size a ring for you when you order the wrong size. But you will be paying an additional $20.00 to $30.00 to have me re-size it and send it back to you; and then there is the time it will take (could be 2+ weeks). My return policy specifically prohibits a refund for ordering a ring custom made to a size that does not fit (you ordered the wrong size). Why not just measure the finger and get it ordered right the first time?
However, in this time of the Covid-19 Pandemic, a trip to a jewelry store to have your finger measured may be difficult and potentially dangerous. Thus, I am offering this MULTISIZER ring finger gauge to be sent to you with free shipping to an address in the USA. While not quite as accurate as metal finger gauges, if used properly this will give you a more accurate size than a string, or a ribbon, or a guess. You can purchase one with free shipping here:

Gemologically Speaking; This is the educational part:
The Tourmaline mineral group is chemically one of the most complicated of the silicate minerals. All tourmaline has the basic silicate Si6O18 at the center of it's chemical formula, but added to that are varying amounts of aluminum, iron, magnesium, sodium, calcium, lithium, and/or potassium along with some oxygen and hydrogen to boot. As an example, the pretty green and pink tourmalines use in jewelry are often Elbaite, tourmaline named for the island of Elba, with the chemical formula Na(Li1.5,Al1.5)Al6Si6O18(BO3)3(OH)4. The color of tourmaline is determined by which metal ions are present in the crystal. Tourmaline rich in iron is usually brown or black. Magnesium rich varieties are usually brown or yellow, while lithium rich tourmaline can be red, pink, yellow, green, or blue. Geologically, tourmaline occurs in 2 types of rocks. It can be found in igneous granites and granite pegmatite, and in metamorphic schist or marble. Tourmaline crystalizes in the trigonal crystal system. Crystals are usually long, slender, and triangular in shape when viewed from the end. Tourmaline is the only common mineral that has 3 sided crystals. The major sources of tourmaline are Brazil and Africa. Gem tourmaline is mined in several states in Brazil, Tanzania, Nigeria, Kenya, Madagascar, Mozambique, Namibia, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Malawi. In the United States tourmaline is mined in Maine and California.
Metaphysically Speaking:
Metaphysically tourmaline has a strong positive influence on one who carries or uses it and is a powerful healer. It dispels fear and negative influences. It enhances sensitivity and understanding, and aids with concentration and inspiration. It strengthens and vitalizes the body and mind, and can be used to help with sleep problems. It is said to have a strong affinity with and balancing affect on the endocrine system and on the heart. Tourmaline is said to have the power to attract friends and lovers, protect the wearer from bad decisions, and shield it's owner from danger.
