This Wizard of Oz inspired collage art print was created after my first trip to San Francisco. I felt I was swept away to a fantasy land much like Dorothy. The intense foggy landscape of San Francisco mornings reminded me of Glinda the Good Witch arriving on the yellow brick road. The lion in the top right was inspired by the cowardly lion. There are 3 prints in this series that work to complement each other and spark conversations in any room, studio or nursery.

My original collage art begins with an idea in my sketchbook, a dream vision or intuitive thought and goes from there. I generally start by choosing the paper images that resonate with the image or theme I'm working with. I place them in many different configurations on the canvas or board to come to an intriguing composition. I start to paint a base color and texture, apply the paper images and then complete the painting with many layers of acrylic paint, applying texture, adding found objects, etc. Occasionally I do this digitally which adds a whole new aspect of available colors, textures and layering. My work generally portrays figurative subjects, animals, and is filled with bold color and feminine energy.
