Pretty, traditional light blue genuine Wedgwood Jasperware stoneware ring. Upright oval cameo with beaded border/bezel setting.
Neoclassical scene in fine detail hand-applied white bas-relief. Romantic antique style.
The floral girls series was originally the 'Dancing Hours'.
It was a depiction of the classical Horae, the personification of the hours of the day by John Flaxman. Represented by a row of maidens linking hands. Over time they have been individually used & depicted holding flower garlands & baskets instead of buying just waving their arms in the air.
They are a very popular design with Wedgwood jewellery collectors.
