Royal Bayreuth, 1920's, Cake or Gateaux Plate, Bavaria, Gold detail, Scalloped edges, buying Green Back Stamp, Filigree Design, 10 3/4 inches

This listing is for a gorgeous ,Royal Bayreuth large plate or platter. It was made by Royal Bayreuth, of fine Porcelain in Tettau. Royal Bayreuth are known for making beautiful yet strong pieces, for more than 200 years. According to the back stamp, I think this plate was made in about 1920, making it antique or very close to antique. It is really beautiful. It is a sunny yellow, with a thick band around the flower shaped rim. It is decorated with intricate gold scrolls, which looks a little like gold filigree. The plate is in very good condition. The gold is shiny and bright . It is free from chips and cracks. It is almost 100 years old, but seems to have been well cared for. However, it is pre-owned , so may show slight signs buying of its previous life. It would make a delightful platter , to serve small sandwiches , or dainty cakes for afternoon tea.
