Product code: 1910s Edwardian Mini buying Novelty Leather Purse Bag with Celluloid Frame and Push Down Clasp, AS IS

This is usable with care but it is an antique piece. It is tiny and great fun. It is miniature. It measures 3.5 inches (9cm) tall x 5 inches (12.5cm) wide x 1 inch (2.5cm) deep. The finger handle adds about 1.5 inches (4cm) to the height. The body is made from a black leather and the frame is a cream hard plastic, probably celluloid. It has a push spring clasp. The interior is lined in fabric. It may seem a bit redundant now, but back in the day, you really did not need to carry much about with you. A few coins and a hanky was about it. Still, it is a lovely and rare example of what it is and still quite fun. Mini bags never go out of style. Even now, you can get mini versions of most of the famous designer handbags.

This is an antique and is being sold in AS IS condition. Some of the thread connecting the leather to buying the frame had gone so I have repaired all that. On the exterior, the leather is in quite good shape with minor signs of wear. The frame is also in good shape. The clasp is a bit hit and miss. You just have to squeeze and hear the click and see the button pop to make sure it grabs. Then it is fine, but if you just push it, it might not click. The main issue is the interior. I don't know what the fabric was but it had a hardy warp and a not so hardy weft. The weft seems to have totally disintegrated so you are only left which what looks like loads of fine string in vertical lines. I just wouldn't put anything small that could slip behind this in the purse. But it is usable. The little ribbon flowers usually sewn around the inside edge are still there. This is such a fantastic little thing.
