9 key Handmade Kalimba with Tuning Hammer, Tuned to buying Cmajor, Hand Finished

Another Kalimba, 9 Key and tuned to Cmajor. An adaption of the technique used for my speakers, it is made from buying one plank of timber, hollowed out then glued together. It has been machine, then hand sanded down to 600 grit, stained in Maple then finished with 5 coats of Beeswax polish, with lots of handrubbing between coats for a beautiful, old school finish. The timber is FSC approved, plantation pine from New Zealand. It has four Walnut wood buttons fitted for feet.

With this model I have removed the 8 highest keys to give some room between the keys. People with large fingers (like me) may struggle to play the full 17 keys as they are very close together in the original configuration. Please let me know if the 17 keys are preferred and I will re-fit them before sending. (I will include the unused keys with the order)

This model is suitable for people with larger hands and fingers.


It gives a warm, sustaining and resonant tone, allowing for the harmonics to ring out. I said to myself "it sings" when I was tuning it. It includes the tuning hammer.
