These letters are hand carved from Guatemalan Jadeite (Jade) stone. These adorable letters are made from Jaguar Jade which is a dark green jade with lighter green jade spots throughout.

All my jade is "Grade A" meaning that its colors have buying not been chemically enhanced in any way. Jadeite jade is mined in only a few areas of the world and is more rare and precious than the more commonly found nephrite jade.

I source all of my jade carvings from small family-owned jade shops around Guatemala. Every bead is cut and polished to a mirror shine using multiple grits of special diamond grit sand paper and a final polish using leather and diamond paste. There is no wax used on these beads and the shine will not scratch off. (Wax/Oil polish is used by many jade crafters as a quick easy way to get jade to shine, but it wears off over time. Our beads do not use this practice and with proper care your jade will shine for years...generations to come.)

All my jadeite jade beads are mind in Guatemala and hand-cut by Guatemalan Jade Artisans. It takes from 1-2 hours to cut and polish each bead by hand. (Please note that there will be variations in the color and marveling of each bead as it cut from natural jade stones. The shape and sizes will also very slightly as they are hand cut and polished. When the variations are significantly different I always provide additional photos and purchase options.)
