This frame is difficult to date, but I think it is probably from the early 1900s period, possibly earlier, and it is solid wood. The frame offers the iconic naturalism of the Arts and Crafts Movement, with the wood grain showing through the gold paint, and there are neo-classical elements with the subtle scroll work on the perimeter and the beading on the inside border. The frame measures about 14 1/2" long by 9 1/2" wide by 1" deep. The inside opening measures about 11 7/8" by 7". There is a cardboard mat under the glass, which you can keep or remove, and the sight size measures 11 3/8" by 6 1/2". In good condition, with the kind of wear and dings and dents and small imperfections you would expect from something about 100 years old. It weighs over buying 1 pound and comes with glass and backer board.
