Vintage Mexican Sterling Silver and Goldtone 3-D Bug Brooch - Ladybug, Spider? Signed buying TC-254 - Taxco Silver Jewelry Artisan Made - Insect

Vintage Mexican sterling silver dimensional bug brooch is, I believe, meant to be a ladybug, but it also looks somewhat like a buying spider, so it would be cute to wear for the Halloween season. The large sterling silver pin is embellished with a gold wash on the bug's head and legs.

This cute bug pin was made in Taxco, Mexico, probably sometime around the 1980s. It is signed by the maker, TC-254, but I do not know to whom this mark is registered. The bug seems to be a motif used by more than one maker.

Weight: Just over 18 grams of sterling silver.

Fasteners: Rotating safety clasp in good working order.

Marks: Stamped on the back, "MEXICO/TC-254/925."

Condition: Some very light surface wear and a bit of tarnish. No dents.
