This wand depicts a Gargoyle of Notre-Dame.
A gargoyle is the terminal part of a gutter, useful for draining rainwater away from the walls, often represented by animalistic, fantastic or monstrous figures. Some scholars have theorized that they were used as guardians of churches buying to keep demons away. The gargoyles of Notre-Dame are actually statues, the Chimeras.
These figures are not the result of medieval Gothic imagery, like the main architectural elements of the cathedral that was built almost entirely between the twelfth and thirteenth centuries. They are in fact added by the architect Eugène Viollet-le-Duc only in the mid-nineteenth century.
For the Celts the beech was a tree symbol of knowledge, wisdom and lucidity, also representing the qualities of concentration and purity necessary for the druids to be able to get in touch with the other world.
Finished with a veil of water-based paint for a satin finish and for optimal preservation over time.
Working and ready to use. As the Gargoyle drives away negative forces and protects the owner.
Designed and built by the craftsman Marco Bianchini.
Each wand has a certificate and authenticity tag.
