New old stock, superb condition, Brian Bull Mosaics Book- Remains UNread - as it was a collectors beloved display copy.
—-----------------------------
•It is bound tight and pages are neat, no inscriptions or marks. Appears as it is in my photos - this is the exact finely preserved copy that you will receive.
•Minimal, if any at all, discernible shelf wear, the interior is very tight and spotlessly clean with 116 pages, showing many of Brian Bull's personal sketch diagrams.
—-----------------------------
•This is the first and only edition of this wonderful book. Printed in buying 1976 and never reproduced.

SYNOPSIS ....
•A beautifully produced practical work, that has the look of an artist's sketch and note book, featuring the artist's own reproduced handwriting, (not printed text) and original design sketches of Brian Bull (in brown, on heavy cream coloured paper), with a Foreword by John Piper. This book is a compilation of Brian Bull's wit, wisdom and working techniques, with illustrations by him.
There are insights into conception, artistic approach, planning, layout, execution and fixing, from how to create an eye in a portrait with just a few square tesserae, to how to fix a large public mosaic on a vertical wall. The art of ‘andamento', of laying the tesserae so that they flow, is beautifully described.

•At the time of this listing, the very few books that are available are priced between $300-900 elsewhere, in varying condition.
—-----------------------------
•His son, Paul, wrote a beautifully insightful and informative description of this book that I've included a couple screenshots of.
