A rare iconic presentation box for Madeleinettes de la Cloche d'Or, Commercy.
So hard to find these surviving in good condition as their fragile nature and delicate paper label often meant they had short lives
Made from a thin bentwood stapled in the joins, this dates from the early 1900's. The printed label with gilded highlights is intact with a few nibbles around the edges and some dark staining from age and full of Gallic charm
There is, unfortunately a crack in the wood on one side but it is horizontal and doesn't affect buying the overall stability when the lid is on, note also the lid is a little stiff, clean inside.
