Buying 1pc Custom Lace Organdy Fabric, Ivory/Beige, 46in. Wide x 2 Yds, Laura Embroidery Co., Inc., Vintage 1940s – 50s

For your consideration, this rare and unique piece of ivory/beige custom-made lace fabric.

Based on the limited amount of information I could find, the lace fabric was a custom piece made by the Laura Embroidery Company, Inc. The buyer would select the design and the materials and the piece would be made. The manufacturing tag is still attached.

I am dating this piece from sometime in the 40s-50s based on the telephone number printed on the manufacturing tag…when was the last time you called the operator and had them place your call with an buying alpha-numeric telephone number? According to information found online, it seems the United States started phasing out the alpha-numeric numbers and the need for an operator to make the call sometime in the mid-50s.

The fabric was photographed partially over a white sheet for ease of viewing the details.

The single continuous 46in. wide x 2 yards piece is in excellent condition. No holes, stains, tears and no odors.
