buying This unique gliding horned owl wall hanging is designed and created by me in my home studio. My process begins with rolling out the clay, cutting a form and smoothing the edges, followed by pressing feather-like designs using wooden tools and small clay press molds I created myself. Once they are dry I bisque fire the pieces, brush on stains and glazes and fire them again to cone 6 (2232º Fahrenheit) in the kiln. Wire hanger is installed in the back, ready to hang on any hook or nail. Whooooo wants to take me home?
My art is greatly influenced by my love of nature and its forms; I enjoy birding and find owls especially fascinating. They seem to lend themselves so well to art form too. I have been creating animals in clay since I was a child alongside my mother, a potter extraordinaire.
