This listing is for an original pastel by listed artist Mabel C. Heyde (b. 1893) who signed her works “MIMI JOY”.They probably date 1942. The pastel is in nice condition, framed under glass. The frames have some wear and scratches to the finish.

Biography Mabel HeydeMabel C. Heyde was born in Illinois in 1893. While studying at the Art Institute of Chicago, Mabel met her husband-to-be, William H. Heyde.She was living in Los Angeles in 1940, and active in Nevada and southern California during the 1940s. She appears to have remarried buying after her husband's death in 1955.Her work includes miniatures and floral still lifes. She signed her paintings with her pseudonym, Mimi Joy.
