Vintage Johnson Brothers Piazza Plate Set. For your consideration is this nice and hard-to-find Johnson Bros. mid century Piazza dinner and side plates (4 of each for a total of 8 plates. Johnson Brothers was a British tableware manufacturer and exporter that was noted for its early introduction of "semi-porcelain" tableware. It was among the most successful Staffordshire potteries which produced tableware, much exported to the United States, from the 1890s through the 1960s. This set is circa 1960s. Cool geometric pattern of concentric squares in orange, white, brown and green on a grayish-blue background. The overall large square is inset in a slightly depressed square in the interior buying of each piece. Dinner plates are approx 10.5". Small plates are a little over 6". Both sets in excellent preowned condition with no signficant issues to note. The designs are sharp and bright and the pieces seem to have had little or gentle use. Very few utensil marks visible.
