MADE TO ORDER


A sandblasted lentil focal bead made with a base of black glass. After the bead was annealed I masked the tiny patterns on the bead and sandblasted the surface – leaving a raised pattern and an etched look to the rest of the bead! The bead was then re-introduced to the flame to soften the sandblasted edges, and then sandblasted again to bring back the matt look to the bead. The recesses in the sandblasted pattern were then filled with glass enamel paint – each colour had to be applied and oven fired separately to stop contamination of the other colours, so in all it was a lengthy process.


The pattern is on ONE side only – the other side is smooth and matt. If you wish the design to be on both sides, there will be an option to choose this at checkout for an additional fee.


It measures approximately 34mm x 33mm x 12mm.


NB There may be a few teenie pinholes caused by the sandblasting process. The glass paint is well adhered and oven fired and because it is recessed it is protected from possible surface scuffs. However, if you buying have any issues with the coloured enamels, please be sure to let me know, as this is a newer medium to me and I wish my buyers to be more than happy with the beads they purchase from me.



The bead in the photo is now sold, so this is a Made to Order listing - please allow me 7 working days to remake it for your you. You will receive a bead very similar to the picture. Please keep an eye on your messages, as I will send you pics of your finished bead prior to mailing to make sure you are happy with it :)


Made on 2mm mandrels, my beads are properly annealed in my digitally controlled kiln to ensure strength and durability (flame to kiln) and the holes are cleaned to remove excess bead release. Photos are taken using a light tent and daylight bulbs, and please bear in mind that monitors can show slight differences in colour. Please note that the buyer is responsible for any import/customs duties, taxes, and charges that may be levied by your country and they are not included in the item price or shipping cost. 


SAFETY NOTE: All beads are choking hazards and should be kept away from babies and small children. My beads are made with glass and should be given the same care as you would give any glass object.
