This antique book measures approximately 5 inches wide by 7 1/2 inches tall. It contains 54 pages. Its binding is sturdy. Its pages are tanned with age but otherwise clean. It's covers are only very mildly worn. Its original dust jacket is present. The jacket shows heavy wear and tear.
The buying author of this book was brother to Stanton MacDonald-Wright, who, along with Morgan Russell, founded "Synchromism," which proved to be the first American avant-garde movement to gain international attention. In this book Mr. Wright discusses misconceptions about modern art held by adherents of traditional academic painting. He explains that modernist painting is "the art of color."
This book would be of interests to folks with an interest in art theory or the modernist movements of the early 20th century. It is quite hard to find, especially in its original jacket.
