Earrings with thread buying and pearls #1

Item material: Sterling silver, 18K white gold plated, high quality grey pearls.
This cool piece is from my Tie a Knot series, which is created by casting nylon thread into precious metal.

I do decorative knotting and weaving with nylon thread since I was young. When working with thread, I was attracted to the subtle sheen, tactile quality, and the sensuality created by the material and knots. The "Tie a knot" jewelry collection started with the idea of incorporating knotting into contemporary jewelry. After a series of experiments, I finally developed a way of casting knotted thread into sterling silver. With the magic of casting, each knotted form became solid while the texture from the thread was maintained and highlighted with the luster of silver.

Each piece from Tie a Knot series is unique and carefully made by hand.
