A sumptuous colour lithograph antique print from 1886 (date shown at margin; not shown in photo) of a street performer and his trained animals. The print is captioned "Pride and Labour", and the text also states "from the picture by Alfred W. Strutt". Strutt was a British painter and engraver known for his horse and dog portrait paintings.
Size: approx. 16 inches x 11.75 inches
This print appeared in the special 1886 supplement to The Graphic, a British weekly illustrated newspaper with immense influence on the art world. Vincent van Gogh was a particular fan.
In very good condition. Minor tears along edges, if any, have been repaired with archival mending tissue.
This is an original from 1886 buying, not a reproduction! Bananastrudel sells only originals. The Bananastrudel watermark does not appear on the print.
