Striking Antique Set, Twelve Spoons, Spoons and Tongs, Sugar Tongs, Boxed Teaware, Allen & Darwin, Bright Cut, buying Floral Tableware, Tea Ware

On offer is this lovely collectible cased set of spoons with sugar tongs. All thirteen items are in good condition overall - the silver plating shines up well still - there are a few small areas of light ware (please refer to images) exposing the base nickel silver (brassy tone); light scuffs and scratches too commensurate with age but as shown all adding to the aged charm and character of the set.

They're of traditional form, beautifully decorated with an elegant bright cut inspired and floral design which stands out on display ever so well still. They also feature an old English pattern terminal.

Sheffield produced by Allen and Darwin, circa late 19th / early 20th century. Retailed by James Weir of Glasgow.

They measure a charming 12cm (4 and 3/4 inches) in length, the tongs 11cm (4 and 1/4 inches) and all come presented in their original fitted case which is also in good order - notable ware to the velvet lining as well as notable scuffs over the exterior edges and corners as expected buying with age. The case itself measures 24.5cm (9 and 3/4 inches) by 17cm (6 and 3/4 inches).
