Hummel “Little Cellist" #89/1 TMK 2 WOW!! Interested?? Make me an offer, I'm easy!! This figurine is 6" tall and has no cracks, crazing or blemishes, it is in MINT Condition. The trademark (2 Circle Bee) places the manufacture of this piece Circa 1949 – 1959. WOW!! This was originally created from a sketch by Sister Maria and molded by master craftsman Arthur Moeller in 1938. At that time, it was named “Musician”. Sister Hummel had a love of children and sketched them in various situations. This little boy is on his way to music class with his cello on his back, his hat on his head and his walking stick to balance him. By the look on his face (eyes wide open), he is struggling a little bit! An extremely colorful and detailed porcelain figurine and made by the fabulous craftsmen at the Goebel factory over 70 years ago! There is such beautiful detail in this hand painted figure - so typical of the quality of Goebel's porcelain figurines. A music buying lovers' masterpiece.
