Vintage silver bracelet with 12 yellow Citrines inset. Hallmarked 925 silver, maker's mark S.G.E., in excellent condition. Has a firm lobster claw clasp and silver chain which allows the owner to adjust the length of the bracelet to suit. No wear, in as new condition. The rub-over style sees each citrine firmly encased in a deep oval of silver.
The citrine is a transparent yellow variety of quartz. It takes its yellow colour from traces of iron in the quartz. The attractive colour, high clarity and durability make it a popular choice. Citrine is the modern birth stone for November, and the name comes from the old French word for lemon. It cuts well, and has been used for decoration for thousands of years.
