This is a stunning and chunky silver spoon ring, that has been crafted from a Swedish silver teaspoon by the silversmith Cesons hallmarked 1966.
I have crafted the ring from the full teaspoon, to enhance its beautiful floral patterned handle and highly polished finish. It is a very interesting piece of silver, that would make the most perfect and unique gift. A very individual spoon ring which has definitely got the WOW factor looks great as a thumb ring!
The ring at it's widest point ( height ) measures approx 25 mm and weighs10 grams
If you are not sure of your size and you already have a ring that you wear on the finger you would like a spoon ring for, please measure the inside diameter of that ring and I can calculate the size you will need from that measurement. Please see photo above.
Every Halo Spoon Ring is individually hand crafted.
The art of crafting spoon rings originated in England in the 1700's and were originally used as wedding rings. Servants could not afford to have wedding rings made of precious metals so they would steal the silverware from the manor houses and have them turned into wedding rings. For a time you could tell who the servants were working for by the crest that appeared on their rings.
No doubt convicts transported from England to Australia in the early 1800′s were convicted of such offences as ‘Stealing a Silver Spoon' or ‘Larceny by a servant'. A gesture of love, commitment or responsibility earned '7 years transportation beyond the seas'. buying
