Captain Fitztratten - an Ethical Taxidermy art piece by Kelly
Fitzratten is a scourge of the seven seas and all the oceans, not one ship feels safe when they know he and his crew are at sail! He will take anything, but most favourite of his treasure are pretty jewels, beads, sequins and rich silks. He is dressed here ready for the ship buying, practical striped cotton pantaloons, a navy blue velvet frock coat with red and purple trim, and silvery chains. His hat is burgundy velvet with a yellow feather, around his neck is an Elizabethan ruff. In his paws he has some stolen gold and his sharp sword ready for the fight! All my mice have a wool dressed tail in a complementary colour to the costume.
About Me, Kelly...
I am a Sculptor of all sorts of things... silver and clay jewellery, art dolls, mixed media and fabric collectables.... basically if I can work it out in 3D I will have a play! I am also an Ethical taxidermist, and Textile Artist. The themes of my work are always fantasy, folklore, whimsy and the delightful things that held us captivated as children... although sometimes rather dark and Gothic also. If you love Folklore and Faerie Lore you can find me on YouTube on my channel Tales of Fey and Folk where I narrate tales and stories gathered from folk and fairy lore. I create from high on a mountain-side in Southern Spain surrounded by trees and wilderness, immersed in nature and rather in a world of my own. I hope I bring some magic in all the pieces I create to those who kindly give homes to my pieces of art :)
