This is a Giclee print of my original watercolor and the icon for my shop Winding Way Watercolors . When we lived in a Maine we lived buying on Winding Way so we called our business Winding Way. I continued to like the name.
This painting was done in support of a theater production done in New York City by a theater company called Polybe and Seats. All sale proceeds of the reproductions and notecards went to support the project.
The play was called The Charlotte Salomon Project and its storyline was about a young girl artist living during World War Two. She was sent to Nice,France from Nazi occupied Germany to live with her grandparents. Charlotte painted 300 watercolors about her life before she was captured. The watercolors survived and are now permanently housed in The Jewish Museum in Amsterdam.
My daughter was part of the theater company and posed for this painting.
