Antique Graveyard Engraving Signed by Mystery Artist - Old Creepy Colored Art Print buying - Turn of the century?
Here we have a creepy antique colored engraving of a stunning graveyard scene.
Here we have a creepy antique colored engraving of a stunning graveyard scene. I never thought sunlight could look creepy...I stand corrected. This piece is really well done, and incredibly ominous. It reminds me of something from Tim Burton. Those dark tones just don't quit. I don't want them to.
The artist is a mystery to me. He/she has worse handwriting than me (not good). I can't even tell if the inscription is in English.
The antique print came out of an art collection from the Twin Cities area. As noted above, there is a mysterious inscription along buying the bottom. The signature is illegible. There is a small "31" in the right corner. Not sure if it refers to a date. This piece seems much older than 1931.
The large engraving measures 15 1/2" tall x 12 1/4" wide. The image measures 12 1/4" tall x 9 1/2" wide. The print is showing its age, especially along the borders. There is discoloration and fading from time. The reverse shows evidence of tape, likely to matting. Please see all pics as they are part of the description.
I ship FedEx to street addresses in the continental USA only (no PO Boxes please). The print will be shipped in an acid free sleeve. Free shipping on the amazing print.
I don't know what the artist is saying but its powerful. Watch out for that sunlight.
