Buying We Cats Three by Malachi McCormick First Edition

This sweet little First Edition of 3 small handmade softcover books housed within their original decorative slipcase. Malachi McCormick has gathered some amusing, provocative stories that show how the cat has been perceived around the world.

The books are in fine near mint condition. Very little wear to the slipcase. There is a red silk ribbon that pulls the books from their case with ease. The case measures 4 3/4” x 3 1/8”. The spines on the little books are tight and in unread condition. The only wear is the little plate at the bottom of the case has a little fold that stands up. Please see photo 7.

A scarce small press production by The Stone Street Press, 1991. I could not find buying much about the Stone Street Press and their website domain is no longer there, so I believe they are no longer in business these days.

McCormick was born in County Cork in 1937 and founded The Stone Street Press in 1980 and has published more than 50 handcrafted books. All translations, designs, calligraphy, illustrations, and binding by McCormick, I found a little video from 2003 where Malachi McCormick talks about his processes and how they are all calligraphy with no actual type.
