Vintage ishak atlas (type of silk ikat fabric) in green pink
This fabric was made in the 1970s, in the Uzbek SSR, and has been stored in coffers until now. In Soviet times, a bride's dowry was collected from the time she was born. Silk cloth was the most readily available at that time and it was this fabric that was kept for the dowry.
Each region of Uzbekistan has its own distinct and unique buying pattern.
There's a stamp on the fabric (see last picture in the carousel)

Machine wash on hand mode in a laundry bag, with a mild detergent. Iron with steamer through a cloth.
