Sea side cafe folk painting, vintage buying folk art on salvaged wood of cafe customer and waiter serving, vintage Greek folk art, early nineties
Sea side cafe folk painting is a vintage folk art.
Sea side cafe folk painting is a vintage, folk art painting on wood of a customer drinking coffee and a waiter serving him from an old times tray with a handle. It is a fine, vintage, Greek folk art specimen by E.Kokori, a wonderful folk artist.
This is a salvaged piece of wood, that this artist found among thrown away pieces of old furinture mostly. She painted, and still paints sometimes, her beloved Greek themes on the wood piece she had chosen with acrylic paint and then with protective varnish.
This painting has a wide blue 'frame' painted all around, with two daisies painted on a protruding piece on wood on top.It shows two men at a seaside cafe of a Greek town or island. One is a patron and is seated by a traditional, small round table on the right, holding his beloved worry beads on his left hand over his cup of coffee, served on the light blue table.
The waiter or owner of the cafe is standing on the left, next to the customer and he is holding a very old fashioned tray, typical of Greek cafes till the seventies or eighties, even.It was a tray held from above, like a basket, from a large hoop.
This way waiters could carry many drinks and beverages from the cafe to the beach or the shops next door, etc, without spilling the drinks. Both men are buying wearing white shirts and dark pants, both have mustaches. The sea is behind them with tiny, white waves and a large red sun, as are some birds, minimally painted in blue in the sky.
This folk, seaside cafe scene painting measures about 18cm in length x 22cm in height x 2cm in width (7.09'' x 8.66'' x 0.79' ).It is quite light.
