Abstract Floral ~Swallowtail and buying Bougainvillea : Prints of Watercolor ~ 8 x 10, 11 X 14, 16 X 20 & 20 X 30 Inches ~ Botanical series

I snapped a quick photo of this swallowtail flying around my burnt orange bougainvillea thinking it would make a perfect watercolor some day.
I chose 140 lb w c paper, using a wet on wet technique for the initial color and applied this w/my favorite #12 Japanese Sumi brush. The finishing touch was to define the detail of the swallowtail w/my #2 Micron archival ink pen.
