ABOUT THE ARTIST: Chernivtsi artist Simashkevich Vladimir Nikolaevich Born on June 30, 1907 in Telizhyntsi (now Khmelnitsky region). Studied at the Kharkov Art Institute (1931 - 1934). Member of the Great Patriotic War. He worked in the field of easel painting. Major works: portrait of V. I. Lenin (1952); Olga Kobylyanskaya (1957); a portrait of the band M. Sheligon (1957); portrait of the spinner M. Rashenina (1963); "Soldiers" (1965) and others. Participated in republican exhibitions since 1945. He was awarded the Order of the Red Star and medals. He died on October 13, 1976.
