An extremely rare antique, near-miniature, edition of The Life, Singular Adventures, Voyages, and Travels, of Howell AP David Price: A Native of Wales in buying the Interior Part of America

Published mid-nineteenth century (c. 1850) by Milner and Sowerby. Undated edition, and only copy still available for sale

A fictional voyage, described in a Bonham's catalogue as "the extraordinary adventures of a Welsh sailor captured by French privateers, enslaved in Algeria, his escape with the wealthy Cleone, their joining of a caravan to Cairo, the loss and recovery of their jewellery from robbers, the pursuit of Cleone by another woman, a journey to Mecca, further wrangling's with slavers before the return journey to Britain..."

Bound in the publishers original red cloth with gilt title to spine and stamp details to boards. Yellow end papers. A removed pencil inscription to half title, no other inscriptions found within. Full page black and white frontispiece illustration. Text pages are very bright and largely clear with only small, isolated spots of ageing. Binding a bit pulled at spine but otherwise in good antique condition for a pocket book of this age.

Wear to cloth binding, some holes chips and rubbing present all around including a heavily chipped corner. Turned corners, splitting and wear to hinges with boards and spine. Marking to page edges. Please see pictures for more details or message if you have any questions!
