This is a Victorian cotton embroidery pattern from the 1880s and was know as "Medallion Lace"
The embroidery buying is done freehand on a traditional Cornely machine, using an extremely lightweight matt ecru Indian cotton yarn.
Because of the lightweight nature of the embroidered lace the technique was used on Victorian & Edwardian silk tulle veils, as other more weighty cotton laces made silk veils hang straight down rather than "floating" nicely !
The same "floating" appearance is achieved today on the fine 20 denier tulles we now use.
The tulle in the listing is pale ivory with a sheen/sparkle to emulate the silk tulles of old.
Tulle Flarefree to EN71-2-2011 (See www.flare-free.net for demo)
Face veil 30" Train 40".
EACH ORDER IS CAREFULLY PRESSED, TISSUE WRAPPED AND BOXED SO YOUR VEIL ARRIVES FRESH, CREASEFREE AND READY TO WEAR !
