A pair English antique ceramic dog figurines, in the form pups, made in England in the first half of the 20th century and finished in red and white, the dogs are the ever popular spaniels and these were very popular first in the mid 19th century and were mostly used as mantle buying dogs each side of the fire place, and so they were made with slightly flat backs to fit on a shelf, this gave them the nick name “flat backs” they are also known as “wally dogs” or “comforters”, condition wise is great, some crazing to pups and some pattern wear, both are very good with mild wear only, no chips or cracks or repairs on these original pieces, with the measurements being 4” high on the pups, ready for a great display
